On a parker O frame 16 gauge that is in good shape and has most all of the case color hardening would an average value be around $2000? I have an opportunity to trade a hunt for the gun. Thanks.. AB

Yes as long as the stock has not been cut down with a pad added. Also as long as its not a Trojan grade. If it is a Trojan that would be around retail in todays market.Next grade up would be a VH and any grade VH and up is definitely worth that($2000) and up.Make sure the barrels have not been cut by weighing them,Parker's have the weight stamped in the flats of the barrel's underide and will weigh what they are marked if they have not been cut.Good luck on the trade and if you make the trade email me at wesleytim@yahoo.com if you are interested in selling.
Thanks
Wesley

Original case coloring? Post a picture if you can. Could be a helluva deal.

I ended up doing the hunt and giving the guy $2,500 for the parker. I was not disappointed at all when I saw the gun.. I can’t believe the shape that it is in!! He inherited the parker from his dad who was a collector, and apparently took immaculate care of his firearms. I have gone to the end of my knowledge and experience trying to find any signs that the gun has been altered or refinished in any way from its original state, and I can’t find any indication that it has. It is stamped VO for the model number, which from what I have found is a V grade built on the 20ga “O” frame. (please feel free to correct me if anything I say is wrong) The bluing on the barrels is in almost perfect shape with just a few very very small wear marks on the underside of the barrels where they lie on the receiver. They measure 28”. The wood is in near perfect shape as well, with no real scratches..there are a few faint marks but they really don’t extend through the finish on the stock… and one small chip that I took a photo of. The case coloring on the receiver has complete coverage and shows no sign of wear. Overall it is the most complete and best kept parker I have ever seen (I am no parker expert, but I can’t help but pick one up and look it over when I see them at gun shows), and I would like to shake the hand of the man that had it and kept it in such good shape for so many years. I have decided after much deliberation to sell the gun.. It feels beautiful in my hands and comes up to my shoulder nicely, but I don’t have the space in my budget right now to own a collectors piece. I would like to use it to fold a few pheasants this season, but I know myself and I will beat it up somehow on accident. I feel it deserves more than my rough handling in the field since it has been so well preserved. Make me what you think is a fair offer on the gun, I am not sure if I gave too much or too little on the trade, and we will see what we can work out. The photos didn’t come out the way I wanted and they do this gun NO justice. But here is a ton of them…

Sounds like a nice gun. Wish the pictures would display.

If you are looking to sell try Doublegunshop.com

Lot of interest there. Do your research first and order a Parker letter.
