I am working on a project that began in 1925. It is a .30 Newton wildcat built from a Springfield 1903 action. It has a 30" Bull barrel. This gun was intended to wear a Lyman Super target spot scope, but the two became seperated at an auction. The barrel has been cut and the Lyman bases set. The gun was built by the gunmakers Emil Eckoldt & Karl Suhl. It is a unique gun & I am thinking I should keep it historically correct. Has anybody have any experience with the Lyman target scopes? It would cost me $250 to repair the cuts that were made for the Lyman scope mounts, plus I would have to put out more for tapping and drilling new holes for a different set of bases. The Lyman scopes can be had for 400-500 bucks. Thanks, | ||
