HAVE LEARNED IT'S A ROMANIAN TRAINER. THE "CUGIR" IS APPARENTLY THE ARMORY. ANYBODY HAVE ANY ADDITIONAL INFO ON IT...MODEL DESIGNATION? HISTORY? Trying to figure out what this is.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v415/mattnorman/22-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v415/mattnorman/22-2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v415/mattnorman/22-3.jpg It's a .22 single shot. Markings are quite faint and hard to read. On front action ring it is marked "UMC" over "CUGIR" in a banner form. On rear action ring it is marked "AVSAP" (near as we can tell) under an emblem of some kind. On the side of the action it is marked "1956-14XXX". I'm guessing the 1956 is the model or year of manufacturing, then the serial number. The buttplate is an older plastic like material and it is marked UMC over CUGIR Built hell-for-stout but rather crude finish. Hardwood, military looking stock. Long heavy barrel, bluing looks like a eastern bloc hot dip. Reminds me of some German single shot trainers built in the early 30's. Owner thinks it's a Chinese Training Rifle, but there are no typical Chinese marks. Anybody have any ideas? UPDATE: Stand by for photos...I haven't broke the code yet on posting them. Is it different than the old days? Okay, try clicking on the photo lines or right clicking and the "open" to see them. People sleep peaceably in their beds at night because rough men stand at the ready to do violence on their behalf | ||
