Say guys, I'm still looking for information on a Sako .22 LR that I picked up a few weeks ago. It's marked Model P72 and is an all-steel bolt action, even the floorplate and trigger bow. The only stamping on the entire rifle is the sheet metal of the 5-round magazine. It's stocked in hand checkered walnut and has a reddish finish characteristic of Sakos from the early '70's. I finally got around to shooting it (had to adapt a 3/8" ring mount because the base on it was actually a tad too narrow for a standard tip-off mount to clamp on), and it shoots more accurately than any rimfire I have handled in 40 years of shooting .22's. Does anyone have any information on this Sako? I can't even find it cataloged in old Shooters Bibles or other references and it's not listed in the Blue Book. | ||
