Does anyone know who has the manufacturing records for Charles Hellis & Son? I have a very nice high grade boxlock by this maker and I would like to source some history on it if possible.

I think someone once told me Hellis was incorporated into Atkins, Grant & Lang sometime during the 50's. Not sure if this is true or if the records still exist.

Any help is appreciated.

Hellis was bought by Beesley, which was bought by Atkin, Grant and Lang. Beesley has since spun off and who knows if they have the records?

Atkin Grant and Lang is easy to contact and they should be able to direct you to the appropriate location, if it still exists. A history often costs �50 or so from most gun makers. Ken is likely the person the person you will need. A very pleasant individual.
