A Friend has a unique rifle and we are trying to find some information about it. It looks like a Old Winchester lever rifle but is a pump. It has an octagon barrel and a full length tubular magazine.
The only marks are "Colt A mfg, Conneticut.." and the patend date also on the top barrel flat in front of the reciever is ".32 Cal".
Does anyone know anything about this rifle? Any info would be appreciated.

It is a Colt "Lightning" rifle. Probably a 32/20, but check. It is valuable, how much depends on condition.

Thanks,

It is not if good condition. It still functions but I would not think of putting a live round in it. I have nerver seen one and was trying to find some history.

If it's a 32-20 it's a Medium Frame Lightning. They were made between 1884 and 1902. Production totaled 89,777. If you want, post or PM me with the ser# and I can give you the year it was made.
