Hi y'all, I finally bought a Springfield 1884 Trapdoor rifle. It's in pretty good condition, except for very few minor dark (rough?) spots in the barrel. I wanted to do search on the internet about it's history. Now, there is the Springfield Research Service, but for some reason the links on it's site have been deactivated (anybody know why?). I don't know nor have I found any other site at which I can research my rifle's serialnumber. All I could find is that the rifle, #338651, was made in october 1886. Q: Does any of you guys know a site at which I can search what unit my rifle was issued to? "A man's gotta know his limitations" | ||
