Any ideas what an original South Gate Weatherby FN 300 Wea Mag, with original stock might be worth? I've found one with a 4 digit serial # that has metal at about 95%, except for the bottom metal, trigger guard and bolt handle, which show normal wear. Bore is in very good shape, no throat errosion. Stock should be replaced.

That pretty much takes it out of the collector category, meaning it is worth whatever someone who wants a decent Mauser barreled action, or shooter with a worn stock, is willing to pay. It would be in the hundreds, not in the thousands.

Weatherby used the FN Deluxe action between 1949-1963, including after the Mark V was introduced in 1958. Serial numbers range between 1400-10962.
