I am looking at a Martin Model 62 30 Cal. M1 carbine, has anyone heard of this company? I believe the rifle was made during WW11 it is in great shape but I cannot find any info on it. I am aware that many companys made the M1 under different names but was hoping someone may be able to give me some info on this particular M1. Thanks for any help on this. Pa Griz Happy New Year

Havn't heard of that mfg but it may have been a "brand name" used by one of the others. You might contact US Carbine Collectors Assn, PO Box 47038, Oak Park, MI, 48327.

JBelk, I can take it then that this is not one to buy, correct? I also have access to a couple of Winchesters, they may be the better deal. Thanks for the help, I really appriciate it.

Pa Griz-- The Winchester carbines were really nicely made. They're a fun gun too.

PaGriz. Unless I am mistaken, what you have is a MARLIN, model 62 lever action .30 Carbine. They made a bunch but most have been retired to the back of the closet. I collect .30 Carbine family of guns mostly GI and commercial M1 Carbines. Would appreciate a quote if your interested in selling. e-mail me dandjent@infi.net
