Hi everyone, I have an older Rem mod 700 in 7mm mag that was my uncles and on the barrel under the caliber it says "stainless steel". The bluing on the barrel appears good, but on the receiver it looks like it rubbed off in spots. My question is, does the "stainless steel" refer only to the barrel or was the action done in stainless as well? Any information on this gun is appreciated.

Barrel only. They did not make stainless actions until early 90's. Remember, forgivness is easier to get than permission.
