i just picked these up and dont know all that much about them, if anyone has any info id be grateful to hear it. also is there a good site other than this one for info on them? first octogon pat 1860 no model # no cal marked, anyone know what cal it might be? looks short and fat 44 maybe?

the old military is a canada made 303 m10 straight pull ross.

On an 1873 (first rifle in the photos) the caliber is usually engraved on the brass on the bottom of the action. If a .44, it is .44 WCF aka .44-40. Other possibilities for that model are .38 WCF, .32 WCF, and .22rim (short or long).

thanks terry but theres nothing there? the gun is in pretty fair condition also. i should be able to see something but cant? the serial is 275644 then what looks like a sideways t does that mean anything? barrel has got the winchester repaeating arms co ne whaven conn
and the kings improvement patten mar 29 th 1866 october 16th 1860. thebarrel is 19,1/4" to reciever. thanks for the help. must be a 44 the bore is just a hair over 44 thousands
