I have a cougar voere in a 308 Norma mag... On the right isde of the rifle it is stamped COUGAR VOERE AUSTRIA and on the left side it is stamped LAUFSTAHL3 also on the left side it is stamped 308 Norma mag. It has express sight one for 100yds and the other is 200yds. It is on a 98 mauser with a tang safety. Does anyone know anything about these rifle and what they are going for. When I read about rifles chambered in the 308 norma mag this one is not even mentioned. Thanks for input.

Voere rifles have been imported into the USA off and on probably since the early 70's (that I can recall). There have been several different models/names. They are still in business in Europe http://www.voere.com/

The 308 Norma Mag isn't seen very often in North America. Entirely possible that it was originally purchased by somebody in the military at a PX of a European military base.

The 'Laufsthal 3' refers to the steel.

Do a search on Gunbroker, Gunsamerica, and Auction Arms for 'Voere' and see if anything similar comes up.
