I bought a DWM marked Luger today and cannot find it in my book. Bottom of barrel has a Crown N, 8545 i serial number. The frame has the serial number with GERMANY under that. The DWM is on the toggle. Has GESICHERT under the safety lever, when lever is in the up position. Has stock cutout. All numbers match but did not come with a magazine. The extractor is not marked or chamber area either. It is 7.65mm. Has checkered wood grips that are in good shape. It might be a 1923 DWM Krieghoff Commercial but is not stamped above the lanyard loop. Comes close but not quite right. Any help would be appreciated.
Look under the grips for the initials GKG. There was a guy back in the '70s that produced parts Lugers with matching numbers, etc. that a lot of the "experts" couldn't detect. Stamped his initials under the grip on the frame so he didn't buy back one of his guns. Never sold one as original but found them at gun shows with a long "history" years later.
