In a fit of insanity, I went and bought a J.P. Sauer Royal Grade 20ga SxS without knowing doodly squat about them.

It went like this;

Drool...
Slobber...
" She shore is Purty "
More slobbering.....
Pull out wallet...etc.

You guys know the routine.

Any body know where I can find out some info about them?

There was a JP Sauer in a shop here that some famous actor owned. He must have left it in the floor of the jeep where the dogs sat for years. The gun was trashed and what a shame. It had been the perfect upland gun with all of the options.

I looked at it but it would have cost thousands to bring it back.

I am going to look harder for another one like you found. I have had a pre war Sauer drilling for a long time. It's as fine a gun as there is.

Lot's of sauer info over there. I believe the Royal was one of the higher grade post war guns but I'm a bit fuzzy and there are others with vastly more knowledge than I.

List as much info about the gun as you can, including proof marks and photos if you can.
