I have a friend who has a winchester 1892 serial number is 42567 which I think puts it manufactured around 1894. This gun has a pistol grip stock with the grip cap, a cresent butt plate and the pistol grip is checkered as is the forearm. There are no cracks or splits in the wood. However it appears someone may have sanded the wood due to the checkering being faint in appearance. The receiver has some engraving on it of a deer. The gun belong to my friends father and he has had it for over 50 years and in that time he says his father has done nothing to it as far as refinishing or engraving. Does anyone know a ball park figure of what this rifle would be worth. Thanks | ||
