I have a Mauser that is marked with a Crown, FABRICA DE ARMAS OVIEDO 1926. The barrel is about 22 1/2 inches, no bayonet lug and has a stepped barrel. What do I have? Thanks

Need some photos and more descriptors. What other markings are there? Obviously it's Spanish. The 22" barrel has me a bit stumped as the carbines usually had barrels around 17" and rifles were 29". Possibly a Spanish Model 1916 that was rebarreled to 7.62 Nato.

I went to the book store tonight and with the information that you gave me I found the gun listed under Spanish military firearms. It is a 1893 with a 21 7/8 inch barrel in 7x57, mine has been sporterized so it is missing the sight ears and stock has been cut down. Should have bought the book but hated to spend 30.00. Thanks for the help.
