With the snowfall in southeast Pennsylvania the rut has kicked in. I decided to take a chance and move one of my tree stands closer to a bedding area. The neighbor's "POSTED" sign was 22 yrds away. More than enough room for a deer to cross between the sign and the stand. As I was placing the tree stand I watched a 4 point harass a doe. I couldn't wait for this weekend to arrive and planned on hunting that stand all day. As I approached the stand this morning, I was shocked when I noticed the "POSTED" sign was 25 yrds closer in my direction along with said tree stand and climbing sticks. I wanted to scream!!! It's not the first time I've had run in's with the manager of the horse property. I thought we had established the boundry when I returned for Afghainstan in 09'. That year was the first time out with the bow since 2000 (went back to school and deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan). I went ahead and attached a note with the "POSTED" sign and shoved it in the mailbox. It's nothing to get too worked over about but, what a way to start off the morning with flexible boundries. Still mamaged to hunt some but the neighbor's dog decided to run through the woods spooking a few doe. To add insult to injury I decided to pull the card from the trail camera. There were 2 nice 8 points that I haven't seen on the card. Still have a week left but, what a way to start off the morning. After the morning being shot, I decided to still give it a go in the afternoon. Just before dark this 6 point came running down the hill. Two "BAAs'" he stopped at 20 yrds. I hestitated for a second knowing he wasn't the biggest buck I've seen but, the morning problems with the neighbor I felt I couldn't pass up a good thing. The only bad thing to report is the bolt w/broadhead is firmlly stuck in the stump. MSG, USA (Ret.) Armor NRA Life Memeber

It's always hard hunting a property line, especially when both sides like to hunt. I had a rental property that backed up to my land in Michigan and the renter's friends would put a stand right on the property line. The rented property was 22 acres, mine was five acres. I was never happy with that but remained a good sport. I did ask that the other person notify me if he needed to cross my land to find any deer he killed. One day I was hunting in my ground blind and I saw two does run full blast past me. Guess who came through 15 minutes later? Never came to the house to ask permission. I was in my blind when he came walking through. Yup, I was none too happy and he got a piece of my mind on the spot. ~Ann

I run into these folks in Utah twice a day. Once in the morning, once in the evening. They now do not park on my driveway, but they still walk through and hunt on private property. FYI: The Utah bow hunter ethics coarse DNW
