I really do not like bow hunting late season.

As I have gotten older the idea of sitting out in the cold and snow.

Has lost their appeal.

With only a week left before firearms season and the forecast calling for cold.

A one horn fork came by and I put a bolt from my cross bow through is lungs.

High lung shot not much of a blood trail.

But when I field dressed him the lung cavity was filled with blood.

Just did not get high enough to start to pour out.

He went about 100 yards.

While examining him I found the right horn had been broken off. The half inch stub was loose in the scull with the scull plate being broken.

Now he is just meat in the freezer.

Having tender loin for breakfast.

Here in Texas, I don't like to hunt early as it's still hot and flies are out.
