Just trying to generate a little traffic here. I was at the Archery Center last night and Pete Ward was there with his stable of bows. Pete has a great little website where he does bow testing and reviews among other useful information. Anyway he brought a handful of the bows he's reviewed and anyone who wanted to could shoot them. Well....I was all over that offer!! The first was a bow veneered with quilted maple by Cari-bows -very sweet handle on it and it shot where I looked from the first arrow they are great bows at a good price. There were also 4 adcock bows inlcuding the elusive ACS. If there wasn't a 3 year waiting time to get one I'd drop the 1200 bucks in a heartbeat to get one. Man that bow is fast, it makes the others look like nothing at all. Anyway if anyone wants to check out petes website http://www.peteward.com/ here it is. the chef

Most longbows seem to come in around 160 fps with a 55 lb pull. The acs at 45 lbs will outshoot a 65 lb in most cases. I didn't crony it, although I could have but I'm told they crank them out about 212 fps or so. All I know is at 30 yards they were going where I looked and the arrows were audibly "sizzling" all the way. By the way it's also physically the lightest bow I've ever held. I'd actually like to see it a little heavier to gain some stability in my shaky hands. You can get a savanna "longbow" which in my opinion is more of a flatbow and they shoot purty quick too-but they have noticable handshock, not the adcock it's absolutely dead in the hand. cheers
