My youngest got his first deer and it was with his bow. He's quite happy to have punched his first tag.

As a new bow hunter myself, I have taken one doe and one nice 8pt buck. I ask the following questions.

What was his bow poundage and what broadhead did he use?

Did he get a complete pass through?

It was incredible for me as I was right over his shoulder. Moments shared like this are worth more than anything.
His arrow went through in front of the onside leg and cut the artery between the heart and lungs, as well as clipping the bottom of the offside lung. She piled up in about 35 yards or so.

NE 450 - His bow is set to 42# as the min draw weight is 40 and I didn't want any doubt about it. He was/is using Muzzy 100gr with a Beeman arrow that weighs 8.4gr per in. at 28 inches so whatever that equals in weight resulted in a pass through at 37 yards, with enough momentum that his arrow was not recovered. It hit some downed branches and went flying off at an odd angle uphill.
