Don't know where else to post this. Looking for a decent trail cam for @ $100. Which ones do you guys use, and why? Never bought one before, so I don't know much about them.

thanks,
Dan

I've used three different brands:
1) cuddeiback
2) Moultrie
3) Bushnell

As my mother taught me, if you don't have something nice to say... well you know the rest.

So, I'll just say: Save some more money and get the Bushnell.

I have seen the pictures from new guy's Bushnell, and the guys on my deer lease have several Bushnells, and I have used them.

That is the one to get.

I had very good luck with the WildGame trail cams, good price, great warranty, and battery life has been really good, still on the same set of batteries since last season.

I too use trail cameras by Wildgame Innovations. The models I have are reasonably priced and while I have had a few problems, they have all been covered nicely under warranty.

I'd love to own some high dollar cameras, but I have mine out year round and I've heard of too many people having their cameras stolen for me to risk it.

I use 6 Cuddybacks and they produce great pictures each and every time! I still have my original purchased 5-7 years ago, only thing is you won't find them for 100. at least not where I'm from. Look at it this way, its an investment into a hobby you really enjoy, why settle on first looser or second best? GOOD LUCK!

Like most things, you get what you pay for.
I have several cuddybacks that have worked well for me, except they run through batteries fast.
I have heard that lots of people have had problems with the cuddybacks.
I also have two Reconyx that are excellent, and they are very easy on batteries.

We have had 6 Moultrie M-80's it seems forever. They are small and take great pics. You can get them for about $120.00 on sale.
I cannot see a reason paying more. I believe the newest generation a M-880 has a faster trigger which might be an asset. Thought about buying one and trying it out. They can be had for $120.00 also.

I've had good luck with the Moultrie M-80. Bought the ne Browning camera this summer so far great pics, fast trigger speed and over 4k pics on one set of batteries and 25% life left in them.

I have had four cuddy backs for several years. They have worked fine but they eat batteries fast. Acquired two Reconyx and they are working great and are far easier on batteries.

Getting (or not getting) some really lousy customer service from Moultrie... Any one else having problems with them doing warranty work?? As of now, I will never buy another one and I have 5 of them....just wondering.

I tried a Wildgame Innovations camera. It was their least expensive camera. It died in less than 1 month (though there were heavy rains). Triggering mechanism failed. Pictures were good while they lasted. Returned it to POS for a refund. Reviews for all brands seem to be all over the map.
