I've got this stud on two different game cams. He doesn't come in every day. I sat out opening weekend for three hunts, two weeks later for four hunts and never saw him up close and personal. Friday morning he came in three times about a minute each. First time it was about 20 minutes before shooting light. Next two time was about thirty minutes later, but he never gave me a presentation with which I was comfortable making a 29 pace shot. IMHO he is too good a deer to take a chance on wounding with a straight on shot. Oh well, my bud didn't shoot him on Sunday, so I'm back either this weekend or next to see if I can take him.






To my way of thinking, he is a nice mature hill country buck. At present, he is numero uno on my list.

I was also thinking around 6 yrs.

I'm taking my oldest son with me this weekend. He is going to hunt for this guy from Friday evening through Sunday morning. This is a bow only lease. If he takes him, that will be his Christmas present.
Anyway, he will be 30 this year. We've been hunting together since he was six.

A buck he took two years ago while we were hunting. This was taken on December 26th, so I couldn't get away with calling it his Christmas present that time
