And here I sit in the RSA almost in the middle of summer and I cannot hunt. Lucky for you. Anyway I wish you all good hunting with a watery mouth and a crying bow.

I'm eating a butterfly steak from an Elk backstrap (loin) for supper.

As my brother John says, "that'll make your lips go flippity flop!"

In other words my mouth is watering, too!

Don,
In one sense I am a very lucky person. We only eat venisen in our house. And yes my mouth always water when there is a piece of backstrap or fillet for supper.

If I hunt anything again before our hunting season open my wife will most probably fire me. We have lots and lots of meat.

But the above does not still my desire to get out in the bush with my bow.

Here in the 'States we can hunt varmints in the summer - feral pigs, coyotes, etc.

Of course if I had enough money I could go to Africa every summer!

I have the opportunity to go hunting on a new "farm" this Saturday. Only 60 acres, but mostly wooded creek bottom.

This is very welcome, though, as they are building houses where I used to hunt.

I am going for a walk on a farm after some chores are done here. Since I already shot one a week ago I am all set and it's just for the fun of it and to try to blast another coyote.

I have a doe tag but I get another buck tag next Monday and if I shoot a doe now thats three dead deer as they must be pregnant by now.

I can do a lot of hunting during the summer on the exempted farms and on my concessions. Th problem is the heat. I have quite a way to bring the meat back to Centurion and then I must still work it. I do not have a coldroom at my house, so I have a big chance of loosing the meat. I am also stuck with a lot of admin work, book keeping and the likes. I absolutely hate it, but it's got to be done.

Success for the weekend thumb

JB,
A lot of things make my mouth water.

BEER thumbI am still on Windhoek, I will not buy any products from SAB. If they want to support a gunfree RSA why must we as hunters support them. Anyway Heineken, Grolsh and Erdinger is damn fine beers as well beer
