I want to buy a ground blind to Bow hunt deer and turkey from. I want one that I can shoot a bow from easily and have good visability in all or most directions. One that is light and easy to set-up too. I have concerns about drawing the bow inside the blind and then being able to shoot out of it. I think a bow blind needs long vertical windows to shoot from as my arrow is low compared to my sight. What do you recommend for a good archery blind?

I've found bowhunting from portable blinds somewhat sucky, actually really sucky. I have a very good blind for hunting (wigwam) but I do not like bowhunting from it at all. Everything has to be too perfect for it to work well.

I suggest building a blind from natural materials or else using fabric or netting so you can stand to shoot over the blind. These enclosed blinds offer very limited shooting unless the animal gets positioned perfectly. A walking deer could be a challenge to shoot even in the 'perfect avenue'.

Also when it's close to sunrise/sunset it's really dark in a blind and even good sights are impossible to see without artificial light.

I completely agree with nco, the only thing that I would add is that a person makes sure in a natural built ground blind that there is sufficient background cover as well.
You can have the best natural cover you could ever ask for in front of you but if you are outlined against a sunlit or open area behind you when you try to move you WILL get picked off immediately.
I think people pay far too much attention to having stuff between them and the game and not near enough to what they are outlined against behind them.
You can be deep in the shadows with the bare minimum in front of you and if you move slowly and smoothly you can get away with a lot more than if you have the best cover in front and outlined behind.

I don't use ground blinds when I bow hunt from the ground, I use natural surrounding's to cover me. I almost always have a tree behind me and a brush pile in front of me. I have been very successful using this. I have had lead doe's within 5 yards of me on numerous occasions.

If you're going to make a hole, make it a big one.

I have shot eight turkeys and one white tail out of double bull blinds. Have not used other brands, but sure like the DB.

Double Bull is the way to go -- to many positives to list -- I have two and have killed many many critters out of them !!

OMG!-- my bow is "pull-push feed" - how dreadfully embarrasing!!!!!

I have yet to read a bad comment about the Double Bull blinds but to be honest, I can make a very good portable bowhunting blind for much less money. Those things are rich.

Ameristep, not too expensive, and still good.

The best but you need some serious money for this one.

I have an Eastman Outfitters hub-style blind that I've used for bowhunting whitetails as well as turkey hunts.

I like popup blinds for the simple reason it's warmer when hunting late season or in wet weather.

This buck was taken on New Year's Day, 2008 when the day was -13 degrees.

I really like ground blinds.
