Anybody using this?
I want to get one to help overcome my severe finching (trigger punching) problem.
Alternative, they tell me, is to get one that has the trigger far enough back so you squeeze with the middle part of the index finger rather than pull with the end part of the finger. huh?
thanx

Seems to me a flinch is a flinch no matter the trigger. Try shooting at moving objects for awhile um.... like a baloon on a string in the wind or a tennis ball on a string etc. Also use a breathing technique that's the same every time. I learned in martial arts that when a move was particularily hard such as a flying kick or something that would cause one to hesitate..to take a breath and make the move "every time" no hesitating after the breath and definately no backing out of it. Once it becomes habit it should help you. Also be sure to follow through after the shot, maybe you can learn to relax after the shot and that relaxation will slowly creap foreward in time until you relax througout the shot. Or take long shots without aiming ...just for the pleasure of shooting and watching the arrow then slowly bring it back to aiming.

I've been hunting with recurves for the last 8 years.

Prior to that I used the Winn Free Flight.

I found that after getting used to it I could hold the trigger with just the tip of my index finger. Since your holding the trigger VS. pulling it's all most impossible to be jerky in your shot. It's simple a matter of relaxing you sting hand.

One nice thing is you can adjust the tension on these. If you like it, buy a second one. Set then at diffent tensions so you don't get too programed into the shot. Then alternate them.

These are very well made products.

Lochi: The technique using the middle finger is probably referenced to use a back tension release. Actually what they're telling you to do is use back tension to pull the trigger, instead of using your finger to pull it.

a flinch is going to be hard to break. but I'm afraid that back tension isn't going to help either unles your goal is to loose a bunch of arrows. the best thing you can do is to practice form without ever firing the bow. don't even put your finger on the trigger. pull back put the pin on the target and hold it for a count of 5 and then let down when you get tired stop don't practice bad form. after a couple of weeks you can start to put your finger on the trigger after you make it to 5 but don't fire. after a couple more weeks go ahead and fire after the count of five.
Good luck.
