Anyone have a bow sling that they are very happy with? I bought one years ago at a hunting expo that I liked but lost it and have been unable to find the company that made them. I am looking for something that would strap over your shoulder and carry the weight of the bow but allows you to go from carry position to the ready position with ease.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Skyjacker, a few years back I was lucky enough to be drawn for a early rifle elk hunt in WY. The awesome thing about WY is i was allowed for the massive sum of $25 to buy a archery tag for that unit, good for the entire month of September. Considering i was going to be spending most of my time going either up hill or down hill with my heavy bow in tow it dawned on me I could use a good sling.

I looked at every one I could find in both catalogs as well as on the net. I found none i was realy that happy with. That was untill I went to the Illinois deer and turkey classic and came accross a booth selling both gun and bow slings. The company is callled:

Specialty Outdoor Products
7887 Gawley Rd.
Pickney, MI 48169

Sorry no website that I am awere of.

Thay make the best I have ever seen bow and gun slings. Thay are made out of thermoplastic rubber and it will never rot, mildew, stretch out of shape in short if you dont cut it, it will last for ever. It also will not absorbe anyhting like water or scent.

I used mine almost daily for two weeks and it works like a deam. What I likes about it best is it holds your bow or gun tightly to your back or side. It will adjust to fit anyone as well as over your pack and stoll stay pretty comfortable.

The only down side is I have not been to the deer clasic in a year so I dont know if he is still in bisiness, but he was there every year for at least four years.

I liked them so much I bought three of his long gun slings and two of his bow slings so I will never be with out them my hole hunting life. The rifle sling works even better than the bow sling, although thats kinda apples and oranges. I have used the gun sling for at least six years know and it makes all other obsolite IMHO and I hasve used quite a few other makes of slings prior.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if he is still selling his slings.

Arthur.

I have one made by Primos that I'm happy with. It has padded ends to protect the cams and three snaps along the inner edge to cover your string. It's great for carrying your bow but if you're in a hurry to take a shot don't use the snaps. Here's a picture of it.
