Not good news, but my husband found the deer today. We had initially expected it to head for brush and centered our efforts there, but from the last blood spot it had went over the hill following a cleared path and expired near a small tree. It went about 300 yards from where we lost the blood trail.

Might have got that deer had we waited longer to start tracking it. But, there had been rain forcast for overnight, so it was a hard call. I mostly regret that the deer undoubtedly suffered... but nothing gets wasted in nature. Dust unto dust.
