TT, the irony would be lost on those not from the midwest. Want to see a real rant? Go to the African Big Game Hunting forum, scroll down to the "Can't we all just get along" thread, and read what Outdoor Writer just posted. Rich

TT, the gravity of that would be lost on those who are not from the midwest. Besides, I know somebody who is a diehard (and he does every year about this time) Cubby fan. Rich

Just my two cents !! I went to the " Africa Hunting Forum " & just read a very interesting post ,which involved " Baiting for Leopard ".. http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/7241014931 Not one negative comment posted .. I don't get it , whats the difference ??? I don't have any problems using bait for " Fishing or Hunting " , wherever it's considered " Legal ".. PAPI

Well I don't know what happened to my thread in the African section. I was gone all day yesterday so I couldn't look at it. Apparently something must have gotten out of hand and it got deleted. It would be great if someone could send me a PM and let me know what happened..... _______________________________________________________ Hunt Report - South Africa 2022 Wade Abadie - Wild Shot Photography Website | Facebook | Instagram

You went on a hunt on a fenced game farm in rsa in april, right? Isn't that a confinement?

I have shot many Deer and Bear over bait from a ground blind.I use everything from a Long Bow to a Cross Bow.If you do not think it takes skill to shoot a Deer or Bear from a ground blind(Not a tent)at 10 or 15 yds you are full of shit!!!!!I don't get into other peoples biznez on how they hunt and figure that as long as its legal its good to go.Hunters are their own worst enemy, because of their self righteous believe that the only way to hunt is their way, when they should keep their pie hole shut.My Old Man always told me it is better to keep your mouth shut and have people think you are a dummy, rather than opening it and proving you are a dummy. My rant

There happens a lot of crap out there and people think it's hunting. Some of these things are really bad and some nearly perverse (shooting druged lions, "hunting" old zircus animals, put and take hunts). This guy shot a wildebeest at a bait, not the best way to hunt, but nothing special about it. No one ever said this is high class hunting but for thousands of years People hunt at baits and it's ok.

Caracal. Look at the pictures. The enclosure was 3x9miles, American measurement. Green, waist high grass and thick thorn bush. I saw more game driving around in the safari car in Zimbabwe. We walked about five miles a day, and we saw a lot more tracks than game standing around. The degree of confinement is more important, to me, than the concept. If the game can easily be found, due to a small confinement area, and you would have to bait to attract them, that is not sporting. As far as the thousands of years hunting over baits as an excuse for doing so today. They didn't wear underwear, or use toilet paper, or bathe, or shave, and they died in their early thirties. They were in survival mode. Nobody here goes to Africa to kill something so they eat that week. I have met one person in 31 years here in Idaho who could truthfully say :If I don't hunt, my family and I would die...". He lives waaaay back in the mountains. I take him salt and a few things every fall when I go hunting Elk. I would have expected more consistency on the issue of Hunting for game VS just figuring out the easiest way to kill it. Hi, i understand your idea, i prefer challeging hunts on foot . But i don't see such a bg problem if someone else shoots out of a blind as long as they realise that this is (most of the time) not a very challenging. But ISS let's be honest what most people (in africa) call stalking is driving around in a landcruise jump from the truck walk 50meters and shoot. When they are home they tell storys about their great challeging hunts .

I made 193 parachute jumps in the Army. My knees have about a tissue paper thickness of cartilage left and Arthritis. I need to find one of these cruise for game PH's. Both the ones I have had must have gotten a call from my wife telling them I needed some exercise. I just think we need to separate hunting from shooting. But, that is just and only my standard. What was "a"? If the game is seen from the bakkie or safari car and you can walk up to it, that is shooting. Every game animal in the world is confined. The quality of the hunt VS shoot is determined by the size of the enclosure, the degree of interaction with humans prior to your' tracking it, and the type of terrain and cover. Don't be an ass. It's okay to be dumb, just try not to make a career out of it like you do now... regards, Rich DRSS

I am betting that the wildebeest would not stand there at the trough if it saw or scented a human. Cattle, on the other hand, would. ~Ann

Rich, I really don't have anything else to say to you. I just wanted to prove that you aren't a man of your word. Simple enough. It's easy to say one thing and do another as you've proven. Might want to think about that before you start complaining about people and the choices they make...something about a glass house goes here.
