I just bought a second hand ELITE ARCHERY bow. I really like the draw; very smooth and the 71lbs its set at feel like a 60lb.

I haven't fired it yet but have a question about the draw length. The bow is a 29" draw lenght. I used an online calculator, the one that measured middle finger to middle finger as you have your arms stretched. I was a 28.5".

When I pull the strings back using my release, my final rest point leaves my string a bot before I would be under my ear -- just before you get to the junction of the upper and lower jaw.

Is this to long a pull? or will I really not know until I shoot it? If it matter it feel comfortable and I draw to the same point leaving my arms feeling comfortable.

What made me question the draw length is the fact that I think the peep site on the string is to far back for me to line up.

Biscut, wherever you feel comfortable is where I'd have your bow set at. Have a string loop put on and have a partner or shop adjust your peep while you have the bow drawn at your comfortable spot. Most bows nowadays don't need a press to change draw length so quite possibly you could do this yourself.
