If money was not an issue, what would your ideal bow set up be. If you love your current set up, please share.

I'm sure there's a ton of more expensive bows out there, but I guess I'm just an old, cheap bugger.

I shoot a Forge Woodsman and keep a Forge Woodsman XL as a backup bow. Both are equipped with HHA range adjustable sights, QAD dropaway rests and a short hunting stabilizer.

I shoot a Classic Caliper release, with Forge Xtreme arrows and Slick Trick Magnum 100 fixed broadheads.

I can't imagine wanting to shoot anything else. It's reasonably fast, it's quiet and accurate as much as I can be.

With these bows, I've killed whitetail deer, Corsican rams, Jacob sheep, wild hogs, an American Bison, a nice 5x5 elk and an Asian Water Buffalo. And the best part, it's reasonably low priced, the bow is under $500.

But then again, I'm a cheap old bugger that believes hunting ability is more important than what bow you're shooting....

I don't have a takedown Bow, & with that in mind, I've been somewhat looking around.

Qarbon Nano Bow: 64" / 60-65 lbs / @ 26"

I would also use the " GrizzlyStick Arrows & Silverflame Broadhead ".

I love my bow and wouldn't trade for anything, ACS longbow for me. If it was a compound it would be An APA product.

I have an ACS longbow and a Bowtech 101st Airborne compound.

I'm happy with both of them.

I have a Bowtech Destroyer 340 in 70 lbs now that I really like, but if I had the money for it, I would buy a Bowtech Insanity CPXL in 80 lbs and 32" DL.

That is my dream bow atm Smiler

I have two 2006 Martin Slayers Nitrous C cams, great, bows, fast, accurate, and forgiving. But for me my dream bow is a recurve, I've been shooting recurves since the mid 60's, and my first choice would be a Blacktail Bow from Reedsport, Oregon.

http://www.blacktailbows.com/

2nd choice would be a Gail Martin signature recurve form Martin Archery in Walla Walla, WA

I tried out some of the 2013's yesterday I will have to admit that I found a new favorite. I currently shoot a Monster 7 but I really like the new Hoyt Carbon Element. So here is what I would put on my dream bow

Hoyt Carbon Element G3 80lbs
Sure-Lock lethal Weapon
Stokerized stabilizer 10inch
Schaffer Opposition rest

I currently shoot a Mathews Switchback, which is like quite a bit. However, after tearing (left shoulder as I shoot right handed) I may be in the market for a new, lighter draw weight bow next year. Probably going to get something clear down around 50 pounds or so. Of course, shooting perfectly tuned arrows that fly great, with an extremely sharp broadhead, is way more important than how heavy the draw is, or how fast the arrow flies, so either way I'm sure I'll be fine.

I shot a bunch of different bows,, of course I liked them all. I have had Hoyt, PSE, High Country, Matthews,,,[outback, switchback, and now Heli}
Being older now with bad shoulders,, rotator repair right shoulder 2010 and needing left shoulder repair,,, the one thing I can say for a fact, all of the newer bows on the market today are pretty dang good and much easier to draw than the bows 8-10 years ago. My Heli is set at 65lbs and it being very lightweight it is easy to draw and hold at shooting position. My swithcback is my back up bow. When I was younger I would go to my High Country at 80lbs but now it draws dust on the wall.

Go to a good bowshop where good people can help you with the right bow and more importantly,, right draw length and help to set it up and tune it. I have no worries about taking my Heli at 65lbs with a premium broadhead back to Africa and shoot at any of the plains game there...

I am new to archery... The Bowtech\Mathews dealer here in Seattle hooked me up with a Bowtech Insanity CPX at 70#. I have a draw length of 30.65 inches... He put a 1/2 inch D loop on it and maxed the draw length out. I kind of wish I had chosen the CPXL to get the longer length. I feel that I am not locking my bow arm well enough to give me a consistent anchor point. That said, I am still shooting 3 inch groups at 40 yards. It is amazing how fast and accurate that bow is shooting.
Frankly that is my dream bow... even with the slight length issues.

I shot compounds for years and dabbled in traditional. A couple years back i switched over to the stickbow for good after OL Adcock loaned me a bow to play with. He ended up selling soon after and I bought an ACS takedown that is awesome and I wouldn't trade it.

DLS, I had the same problem, different side a few years back. I just turned my Matthews all the way down and used it to help with the rehab. Good luck, shoulders are a difficult recovery....

I got my dream bow last year. Its a Bowtech Insanity 70# with a limb Driver pro V rest, and an HHA ultra sight. It is deadly accurate, and a pleasure to shoot. 420 grain arrows @ 305 fps.
I won't be selling this one anytime soon.

Well my lovely wife bought me a Hoyt vantage pro for Christmas and I love it. It is a far cry from the Miles Keller 28yrold bow I have been shooting. But maybe the new tribute by Hoyt, with an IQ sight, doink stabilizer, and I'd be set.

I just looked at some pics from Tink at the show. Those new totally carbon technological pieces of bowyer equipment are something else. I can not say I like the way they look but the weight of the bow as well as the speed of the arrows are impressive to say the least. Maybe I am too much of a traditionalist but I would still rather have my Black Widow or my longbow. If I was going to buy another compound though I would seriously consider these space age looking things.
