A good friend of mine was sitting in a pitblind over looking a water hole one day when he spotted a black mamba. The mamba was drinking. Fearing that the mamba would seek a cool dark retieve ( such as his pit blind ), he shot it with his mathews blackmax. The snake was pinned to the ground and highly pissed off. My friend then phoned for a shot gun and finished it off. The snake was about 2 and a half meters long. He shot it at 20 meters. I would post the pic but i don't know how to. Any one else had similar experiences ? The Archer seeks the mark upon the path of the infinite, The Prophet Kahlil Gibram

I'd have thought the same and shot the snake as well. I sure would be worried about the sun setting if I'd let that snake alone, while I was sitting in a pit blind. Good shot by your buddy. 2.5 metres is a WHOPPER!

A Friend of mine was once on a stalk for whatever he might happen to bump into. He Happened to bump into a huge black mamba. It was in a tree about 15 meters away with its head slightly lifted. He decided that because he hadn't lost any arrows lately that he would take a shot. He was using a long bow at 90 pounds. His first shot missed and his second hit the snake just behind the head. he saw the snake fall out of the tree But didn't know if it was dead. He didn't want to go looking for a wounded Mamba in the thicket below the tree. he didn't even go look for his arrows.
