Is anyone shooting any of the modern fiberglass/wood versions of the asiatic composites? I find this style of bow very appealing, but it seems that the only bows that most people speak about are longbows or recurves.

A few years back I bought a traditional Hungarian bow along with a boar skin quiver from a dealer in downtown Budapest. I believe the brand name was "Hoz Bows". I bought it mainly as a souvenir and have shown it to some hard-core archers. They all gave it high marks for it's quality of workmanship. Not being an archer I've never shot it. Do you happen to have a web-link for these bows?

I've never shot one either, but doubt that it requires a special techinique. Should be fun!

Their is a guy up in Canada that makes them , their is a couple of his bows in the snop I frequiently do some work in. I have shot all of them and they all shoot differantly.
The do all share the same qualities like the bottom limb being shorter than the top and they "stack up" realy bad , their draw is about 28" and I have a 31" draw , it feels like the draw weight increases by 100lbs per extra inch , so it pretty much stops at 28"

The owner of the shop (and bows) shoots them with a thumb ring made from some type of animal horn.
