I shot into my old foam block today with the new carbon arrows and they seem to be really sticking to the foam in my target (foam from a boat dock). A little bit of the foam is stuck to them too when I withdraw them.
I do NOT want a deer target, so what is my next best choice.
Reasonable speed old bow and carbon arrows!

my neighbor has 'the block' and is completely satisfied with it. other than that, try finding some stray cats. they work great as archery targets and only scream for a second or two.
A "Block" target will work well with field points. I use a bag target for field points due to the long life, cheap cost, and it works pretty well.
Get a broadhead target made of Ethafoam. They are prety cheap ($10 or so at Walmart) and just use it for the few broadhead shots. Then, put it away and shoot the fieldpoints into your primary target. It will save you $$ in the long run.
Carbon six shooter is twice the target as the block in my opinion and cheaper. My block was falling apart after a season. Just my opinion. Good shoot'n!
I had a Stanley Hips target and didnt like it. Reasons were:arrows hard to pull out,the target portion would come out and after a while you would shoot threw it. I bought one of the bag types and liked it much better--this is with field points. I understand that a tow sack or some such filled with the shoping bags from Wal Mart etc works fine. If you don't have that many bags, some cheap drop cloth should make a good filler. Yes,cats sounds like the best though.

Luckily we had a bunch of plastic grocery sacks, and a plastic feed sack theat the rats had ruined. Stuff the feed sack full of plastic store sacks and it stops arrows.
Hey THANX, I will use this one.
Bet it will work til I can get more sacks bult up to replace the current supply!
