I shot a medium size 8 point last nigh 20 yards double lung it at 20 yards.

It ran about 100 yards.

Congratulations on shooting a decent deer.

I missed a nice one on the opening day of Tennessee's gun deer season. It was late afternoon when I caught him crossing my food plot. But the only shot he gave me was a "Texas Brain Shot," so I held off shooting.

At the edge of the foodplot (194 yards) he started to work on making a scrape. As he pawed, he gradually turned until he was broadside. At that point, I moved the crosshairs to about 6 inches up into his vitals and squeezed the trigger. Just as I took up pressure on the trigger and it broke, the buck reared up on his hind legs to rake the tree branches!

Needless to say, I shot underneath him...

Sigh....
