On my 2nd interim leave from Saudi Aramco I could not wait to get my hand on the new Bowtech RPM 360. Archers Edge my local proshop set up the bow and it was upto me to do the final tuning and zero of the HHA sight. Set at 70# with a 29.5 inch draw length I am shooting Carbon Express Maxima Red arrows tipped with 125gr Slick Tricks total weight of 465gr at 310fps. This setup generates 102ft/lbs kinetic energy. And absolute pleasure to shoot and super accurate... A 40 yard Robbin Hood Preparing for a Zebra walk and stalk in the Highveld mountains I had to ensure my accuracy out to 60 and 70 yards... Final tuning and at 43 yards I am happy... Early morning found my up on a ridge scouting and found the zebra in the same area as the previous afternoon... With a cold front moving through the country an icy wind averaging 35km/h promised to make accurate shooting with the bow a challenge... The zebra has never been hunted before, total of 8 animals with 3 mares and 5 stallions. They had a comfort zone of roughly 80 yards... No challenge with the 375H&H but to get within 60 yards promised to be hard work with a bit of luck. The chess game started and the zebra split with 3 stallions and the 3 mares with 2 stallions. Now if you have hunted zebra before you know how difficult it can be to determine the sex of the animal. After a bunch of busted stalks I managed to get a stallion at 56 yards broadside. The arrow unfortunately hit the stallion 4 inches to high... Due to shooting uphill and not compensating for the angle... The 3006 then ended the hunt soon afterwards... Not the perfect shot with the bow but a hard worked for trophy... You know better than I do that ANY zebra is a trophy, and to get within 60 yards is never an easy task. To get one with a bow is even better! Nice job and a great trophy.

Congrats, nice zebra. You must be the man. I shot two over waterholes and they sure are smart and skiddish critters. NRA Patron member
