I have an A&H ACS longbow coming and I just got the tracking number!!! That means it's in the mail and I'll be seeing the new girl in a short while. Damn I can't wait to get my hands on her and feel her graceful curves....more than a new girlfriend for sure. And she can come hunting with me wenever I want.

It's 50@27 and 53@28. No name yet, but if anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.

How about if I do this, we'll have a name contest. shoot me your ideas and the one I pick will get a hand carved European mount plaque carved by yours truly. I'm willing to pay the shipping up to $20.00 Can/Us. I think it's a girl but I haven't held it so I might be wrong...masculine names are welcome too.

I'm not sure when it will arrive but I'll announce the winner a week after it gets here.

Well here it is. It shoots just as well as I had hoped it would. I ran it through the crony last week and it was spitting them out at 187, I have a pretty rough release so it would do better for someone else. Arrows were pretty close to 500 grains. I shot some without weight added (7gr/inch,125 gr tips) and the trajectory was nice and flat. I have to get used to the added speed and it shoots about 8-10 inches high at 25 yards, but at 35 I can hold where I used to at 25. I suppose it performs as well as any 60-65 lb traditional bow would and it's way easier to hold. Actually I notice I can hold it at full draw way longer than my other bows, that's welcome and is going to help with accuracy.

It's not too pretty, all function and no fluff you might say and it's heavy as heck with the aluminum riser.

I think I'm going to have some nice adventures with it in hand though.

As requested, here's the pictures of the plaques I have onhand. You can choose the one you want of the two.

I also included a pic of a head I mounted a couple years ago to give you an idea of what it will look like with head on....hopefully you can get a bigger head than this one. Wink

cheers

That's a good one swede.

Fellas, I'm surprised at the number of views on this topic and only 3 suggestions so far. I know it's not the greatest prize in the world, but it's free and won't even cost ya any shipping. I'm trying to chase away the winter blues...it aint easy up here with little sunlight and nothing to do Confused

How about Annie. The name is warm and sweet and wholesome sounding. Try it for a day or two and I bet you will warm to the sound of it.

I think I'll name her Venus. Not after the god of love but after Venus Williams.

Here's my thinking: It's not much to look at initially but upon closer inspection the curves really become apparent-just like Venus, bless her heart Cool She's the only black chick that's caught my eye in a very long time.

Just a hunter gave me the germ of the idea so the plaque goes to him. Just pm me your contact details and I'll ship it out.

Thanks to everyone for the ideas.
