I am just getting started in bow hunting and want to buy mid priced bow. I have found a great bow shop that I like and trust. I have narrowed my chioce down to either the 2006 highlander or the 2007 big horn. Can any of you talk about reflex as a bow choice and does anyone have any experience with either of these bows. I shoot a 30" draw length and feel the highlander being a longer bow will help my accuracy being new. My reasoning for buying a midrange priced bow is I feel any bow on the market will outpreform my ability at this point. comments please. thanks George K

With a little practice and with a bow set up correctly, you may be surprised how fast you will learn how to shoot accurately. Don't count yourself short. If you know the fundamentals of shooting a rifle accurately you'll get the hang of archery quickly and then probably wished you had bought a better bow. Don't let that stop you from buying what you want. I shot my largest and biggest bull elk with the cheapest bow I have ever owned. It barely shot over 200fps. Keith

George, My advice would be to get a used Mathews or Bowtech. You may be able to find one with all of the accessories included for a real good price. I bought my Mathews used for around 300 and it was money very well spent. Go to this link and see what you find in the classifieds: http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=1 You'll need to go ahead and register so you can reply to the members. These guys go through bows like crazy and many of them are in excellent condition. Good Luck Reloader

A Few Bows I saw: He only wants 350 shipped for this Mathews Ovation w/ 30" draw: http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=476516 Here's another that may be out of your price range but, he may take less if you make an offer. http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=479678 I have this bow. It's fast, quiet, forgiving, and accurate. Here's another I saw: http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=425593 If you watch the classifieds on that site you can easily get a darn nice bow for around 300-350. If you'll look on ebay Mathews and Bowtech go for much much more. Heck, if you don't like it, sell it on ebay. Good Luck Reloader
