Our RMEF chapter has decided as a change of pace, to raffle off a crossbow. I am in charge of getting one. Problem is, I know little about them. Does anyone have any suggestions a to brand/model which would be fairly good. I can get dealer pricing on most and would like to stay under $400. So far I have been advised that Horton is good and barnett is to be avoided, but no reasons given.

Thanks!

MFH

BTW, banquet is in Moline IL Jan 28. If anyone wants info, let me know.

Forget the Horton, forget the Barnett.

Go with the Excaliber. It is simple, it is VERY accurate, and it is the Lamborghini of crossbows.

Second to that is the Bear brand. These crossbows use an Excaliber platform with the Bear bow.
