Have the opportunity to purchase a case of this ammo. Is it any good? How does it rate with other 22lr ammunition? All opinions welcome.

a lot a bullseye guys like 711b. I'm not sure by looking at federals site what the difference is between the 3 gold metal 22lr types.

CCI green is also good. aquilla eley prime was actually more accurate especially at 50 or 100yds.

One of my questions would be "when was it made?" along with "How much?". Some vintages were better than others. Like snobby wine. Look at Saeed's postings from the tunnel.

It's not Eley or Lapua (or Gold Medal Match for that matter), but should be ok for anything short of a benchrest match. It shot ok in my 513T.

Very interesting results to say the least.

Inexpensive 22 ammunition is that way because they reduce costs by reducing consistency and/or quality of the animation. Therefore it would follow that manufacture of more expensive examination would be made in such a way to increase consistency. Federal match or the others mentioned would result in higher accuracy (smaller groups) because of this.

However, this result is generally found in more expensive guns where barrel quality is similarly given additional attention of manufacture. Anshutz, biathlon, and perhaps even the CZ rifles benefit from this. Several hours with a chronograph might demonstrate some of this.

Therefore, I would suggest that standard grade ammunition would be adequate in plinking guns, but in those it certainly wouldn't hurt to use match grade ammunition, depending on the rifle.

Thanks to all for the good information (Saeed) and opinions. Guess I'll get it. It looks to be at least above the run of the mill 22lr that is generally available around here and about the same price.

If it is the same price, buy it! I have some of it and it shoots well. About on a par with my other target, standard velocity ammo.
