Like many others, I have an addiction to good left hand guns and have way too many. As I get older, I think of reducing the herd. If I had to, I could get along with five. Here is my list:

Merkel 20/20/8X57 left hand drilling
Verney-Carron O/U 8X57 left hand double rifle
Verney-Carron Azur SXS 20GA true lefty shotgun
Blaser R8 Switch barrel rifle 300Win, 223, 458 Win
Benelli M2 12ga left hand semiauto shotgun

My 5 all left handed would be

375 H&H CZ AHR
30/06 Ruger AHR
Beretta 682e 12 gauge
CZ 452 22 lr
Ruger 375 Alaskan

I am done buying guns. Only rifle I would buy would be an accuracy international left handed 308/7.62x51

Selecting only from the guns I already own:

  • Anschutz 1416LD .22LR
  • Remington 700 VS .223 Rem.
  • Remington 700 FS .30-06 Sprg.
  • Winchester Model 70 Custom Sporting Sharpshooter 7mmSTW
  • Winchester Model 70 Express .375 H&H Mag.

I'd borrow a shotgun if I ever need one.

After I started the thread I realized that I had forgotten a 22 LR. I have a 22 insert for the right shotgun barrel in the drilling.

The 5 lefties I think I'll hold on too:

Kimber 82 22lr
Kimber 82 22 Hornet
Winchester 70 270 Win Stainless
Zastava 9.3x62
Winchester 70 375 H&H

Currently, whenever I need a rifle I usually grab the 9.3x62, it does a great job on our texas hogs!

In order of preference from top to bottom:
> Rem 581 in .22LR
> Custom Stiller .270Win
> Benelli SBE 12ga
> Tikka T3 lite .223
> Custom Zastava 9.3x62

I could hunt the rest of my days with only the first three. The last two would just be gravy...

I am not surprised at how many people list the LH Model 70 in 375 H&H. I don't think that there was a better production rifle ever made.

Just picking from the left handed guns that I already own:

Winchester Model 70 Classic Safari Express - 375 H&H

Montana Rifle Co Model 1999 - 6.5x284

Savage Model 11 - 22.250

STAG AR15 - 5.56 NATO

CZ 452 American - 22lr

In the cabinet at the moment

Heym sr20 - left handed
Joseph Hambrusch - 16/7x65r combination gun - straight stocked
AyA Coral 12 bore - cast on to fit me and can hit anything with it
William Jeffery 410 - again straight stocked so can shoot it well.

Needs some work

A Rigby 275 - looking after it for a close friend - a lovely rifle but the idiot who made the action put the handle on the wrong side.

A Brno 22rf that I stocked myself. Given that my daughter also shoots left handed, this is going to be traded for a left handed 22rf - probably a CZ but would like something a bit nicer.

Would like to add

A Mauser auctioned left hand 300 H&H, and a 375

It is quite a faff changing rifles here in the UK so we don't have the luxury of having unused rifles in the cabinet. You have to justify each one and show regular use.

Good lord Mike Big Grin, Guess you can never have too many rimfires. Probably everyone's favorite. They just got back in stock at Bud's, I'll order mine tonight. Whistling
