I have a Case knife 6265 SAL. What does the SAL mean? This is a bone handled knife and was made either 1965 or 1966 and has the bolster drilled.

Carpetman,
I think that maybe it reads "SAB" not "SAL"...could be a light or crooked stamping...
"SAB" would indicate the knife has a Saber ground master blade.
Hope this helps. thumb

Thanks Charlie C---I do believe you are correct. It does look, even under magnification like SAL but I could see how it may have started out SAB. Thanks.
