Was at a local sporting goods dealer this PM. In the display case there was this green, paper, UMC #3 shot-shell. It is approx. the diameter of a half dollar coin. Can anyone tell me what gauge. I have a collection of cartridges, shots-shells, boxes and antique reloading tools that I display in a shadow box in my den. This shot-shell, fired BTW, has my interest. Thanks for any information. Much larger than an eight gauge. Punt gun shell maybe. Father, husband, hunter, fisherman, adventure seeker.

What was the headstamp on this shot shell? I ask because I am pretty sure UMC made a 3 gauge shot shell. Zac

The head stamp is Remington over the UMC with the No 3 at 6 oclock, bottom, of the shell. MTG Father, husband, hunter, fisherman, adventure seeker.

Much thanks ZW. I am in the process of attempting to buy this fired shell for my collection. I have many old shotshells that make up my waterfowl/shell collection. I must say, I @m somewhat concerned when it comes time to pass them on. There are no waterfowlers in my extended family to carry on. MTG Father, husband, hunter, fisherman, adventure seeker.
