Has any one just filled a jacket full of lead shot and a over shot card and roll crimped the jacket ? Sounds good for short range hunting ? Like a super hollowpoint !!!

Lead wire can be ordered but it's going to cost you an arm and a leg for shipping

Try Richard Corbin's web site
http://www.rceco.com/index.htm

Or his brother Dave's web site

http://www.corbins.com

Or try asking your local hardwaer store owner about having him stock lead wire for you .

Now onto Jacket's..
Butch -- harrell.hairfield@ps.ge.com

Email him or you can order some from Dave Corbin if he has what you need .
or you can try J4 jacket 's
Or Malcom bone jacket's.
But no one i know make's and sell's
plumbing tubing drawn jacket's.

Post up if you need more detailed info on anything guy ..

You might call Berger.

I know that when I go to pick up orders, they have buckets of jackets around.

Martin-

Got your email, I think you misunderstand.

I have no jackets for sale.

I was just referring to the fact that Berger Bullets, the manufacturer, not me, makes them and therefore may be willing to part with some.

There's a few way's to do up bird shot in a jacket.
And yes folk's still use bird shot in the rifle jacket's just not with a over wad cap.
Lead shot is far harder then most folk's use in there swager's but here's one way

Step One
weight out your jacket and shot

Step Two
Forget the bonding your going to want the Core/bird shot to release from the jacket on impact. So your going to put the bird shot in the jacket and heat just the top part of the jacket with a torch till the shot at the mouth melt's.

Step Three
Becarfull you can pop the end of the seal on the melted core here.
your going to just tapper the end of the jacket
in your point former ( Corbin or RCE swage set)
or if your using a CH Or one made by Ted Smith
carfully pull the handle of your reloading press down with the unformed bullet in the
single stage die/ point forming /nose forming die. so it's sized and has a slight taper on the jacket's nose/point.
Your done!

These bullet's were/are called a fragmentation
Bullet's.

The little bit of melted lead come's apart on impact sending the rest of the unmelted shot into the game animal or what ever it is your shooting at .

Be careful emailing to the above address, General Electric does not look kindly on their employees doing a private business on the company mail server, as a matter of fact they are VERY strict about it.
