Watson LakeAnyone Hunted in Chile?
I should be heading down there in April or May so just wondering if anyone had hunted in Chile?
Hogs, birds etc?
I will be headquartered about 300 miles south of Santiago.
Thanks
Watson Lake.

billrquimbyThere are brocket deer there. An outfitter in Chile advertised in a couple of issues of Safari magazine in the late 1990s, but I haven't heard of anyone hunting there since then. They also have huemel, but they would be protected, and peccaries.

Watson LakeThe deer are protected. Looks like hogs and quail, hunting in the area I am going to.
I will take a shotgun and a rifle down on one of my trips and leave them there. Apparantly no problem but, only allowed two guns...

pulkiWatson Lake :
I live in Chile and regularly hunt here. The species most common are red stag deer, fallow deer, and wild boar . The native species as puma , guanaco , vicuña , huemul (deer) are protected. In the extreme south there are beavers.
In the area where you would be, there is small game as rabbit and hare. Feathers - quail , partridge and pidgeons season starts on winter(june, july , etc). By the way , the rut of red stag starts in a couple of weeks, it lasts more than one month if there are still does available. The rut of the fallow deer starts one month later. There are many hunting lodges where game is plenty and trophy quality is outstanding. Check the net in "chiledeer", and "Los Encinos Hunting Lodge ".
