EXPRESSHunting in Paraguay?
I just got word about the possibility of buying land in Paraguay, namely in the Chaco region.
What is the hunting like there? What about laws, beurocracy, labour, climate and other factors? From what little I have been able to google it seems a bit drier than I expected?
Any members from Paraguay?

rolexfanHello, I am a US citizen and currently live in Chile. Please bear in mind that the entire continent of South America is far behind industrialized countries. First off, the gun laws are stiff as they really don't want anyone to have guns. In the case of Paraguay, it is one of the most antiquated on the continent. There is abject poverty, very few jobs and a hot, humid climate. The main industry in Paraguay is stolen vehicles! Paraguay is a distribution center for stolen cars and they are dispersed all over South America from this country. Keep in mind that the Bush family bought a huge amount of land in Paraguay and that is yet another reason to avoid the place. If I were going to stay in South America, which I AM NOT, Argentina would be the only place worth considering. Argentina has the best food on the continent at great prices along with reasonable priced gasoline and natural gas. Buenos Aires is a fantastic city with beautiful architecture and incredible shopping. You will find nothing like it in the entire continent! The Argentines were smart enough to kill of the Indians year ago and that was a good move. In closing I would avoid Paraguay like the plague! Also bear in mind that ALL South American governments are corrupt, socialistic and thrive on bureaucracy!

Hello Lorenzo,
Argentina may have corruption but it also has the best of food, housing, shopping and beautiful neighborhoods. As far as the Indians go, they are of little use! Look at Chile, Bolivia and on and on. I have not lied when I say all of the governments are corrupt. That is a fact, not fiction. Some dead-beat always has their hand out and the practice is tolerated and condoned! Poverty is every where as the thugs of the Catholic Church has the people by the balls and they live in fear. This is amazing to me in the 21st Century. Talk about the ultimate con job, organized religion is certainly the best.
Cheers

I would recommend strongly AGAINST buying land in Paraguay. You could buy in Argentina, Chile or Uruguay with no problems.

rolexfanBe really careful about buying land in any socialist country! Be certain that you find an attorney that speaks English to inform you about the laws as they are really weird in South America.
