Can Blackbuck and Axis Deer be hunted outside high fence Propertys In Argentina. Or there no true Free Range hunts for this 2 Species possible ? How big are usally the farms where you can hunt this animals ?

I am going to Caza Pampa, and they have 55,000acres of free range property. I plan to hunt Stag, blackbuck, axis, boar and buff. They have several other exotics that don't interest me. They also have a 1000 acre high fence pasture, but we are hunting only the free range. Happy to report on it in early April...

Yes you can hunt them free range.

Axis and black buck can be hunted ,free range ,indeed i always hunted them free range never high fenced ranchs WE CONSIDER THAT A THING FOR FOREIGN HUNTERS BUT MY CLIENTS ALWAYS TOOK GAME FREE RANGE one of the best provinces to do that is CORRIENTES there you can take totally wild buffalo too wild hogs and capibara ,but many provinces has free range black buck and axis .

There are lots of places to hunt true, free range animals in Argentina. However, the real problem is finding someone local and honest to take you to an area that is true, free range hunting. On top of that, how may people really want to fly 10+ hours to a foreign country and leave with empty hands? That is a possibility with true, free range hunting.

While I lived in Argentina, I saw the "good, the bad and the ugly" sides of hunting. I drove away from more than one "free range" ranch that reminded me of some of the "exotic slaughter farms" I have seen in parts of the US. I always get a kick out of some of the popular and successful "free range areas" because (as I know and the locals know) the first time those animals were "free range" was moments or days before they were "hunted". I am not against high fence hunting or "place and take" hunting. I just don't like it when people try to pass it off as "free range".

If you can find the right people to hunt with in Argentina, and you have time to spend hunting, you will have one of the most wonderful hunting experiences in your life with some of the best people on the planet.

Axis deer are considered a pest in Corrientes province you can hunt in most of the province BUT YOU CAN NOT FIND ONE SOMETIMES ranchs are huge and axis deer crossfrom ranch to ranch my land is 50000has but we hunt in neighbour lands too .Near BUENOS AIRES you can hunt all the species for the SCI diamond in a week or less i live here and didnt get all the species yes so...........you are rigth.

La Pampa province has some very good places to hunt truly free range areas. several species and wild areas.

We always recommend to get in touch with your local contact ( well known ones ) so as to be sure what to expect when going abroad.

It seems everyone in Argentina likes to claim their game is "free range", as they know this is important to many US hunters. The real truth is that many of these places are total put and take ranches. When a ranch claims you can take 27 different species in 10 days on one property, it should be obvious that they can't be free range. In fact, anything more than a handful of separate species on a property should be highly suspect.

There is some fantastic hunting in Argentina, but you really need to understand where you are going and how the game is managed.

Done all the time. A lot of us care more about the experience, the friendships made, and just getting out then the actual kill. I consider that portion a bonus with the real memories being all you experience.

hunteratheart, I wish a LOT of people felt that way and let their actions and money reflect it. It would really change our sport and the attitudes some people have towards our sport. Unfortunately those who want the SCI/B&C/ABC/LMNOP/NAACP record animals dominate it and most outfitters, guides, and ranches cater to that market first.
