Anyone ever fly Aerolineas Argentinas?
How was the equipment, the service, and the overall experience?
How is their reputation?
Thanks,

Mikey49009I've flown with them several times in Argentina. Not the best on time arrival record, but then heck that's Argentina. The equipment was good...service OK...no worse than flying on a domestic US carrier.

SFRanger7GPDon't do it. I have an office in Argentina and we do not allow our employees to fly with Aerolineas Argentinas. Also, DoD and DoS have put them on the no fly list numerous times.

billinthewildIn view of the last post not sure how to respond. I just flew with them from Cordoba to Iguazu and back. The aircraft, an Embraer as I recall, was in great condition, clean, wider seating than I expected, and good service.

SFRanger7GPOur office there doesn't use them due to unreliable service (cancellations and strikes). They get on the no fly list for failing maintenance, safety and/or security inspections. I have no idea if they are on it now but they make it often enough that I prefer to avoid them.

I have done the domestic flights in Argentina. There is a reason I now charter down there.

billrquimbySorry to hear that it has gone downhill, Guille.
My granddaughter and I flew AA round trip from Buenos Aires to Iguasu when we visited your country a few years back.
Our planes were clean and the flight to the falls left and arrived on time.
The flight leaving Iguazu was canceled, though, so they routed us to Asunción, Paraguay, where we had dinner and breakfast and were given rooms for the night on the airline's dime before returning to BA.
We were not unhappy to add another country to our life list.

Did you win the damn lottery? I did not win a dime on the flight with you, all I got was a hard roll and a kiss on the cheek....

Funny...

My ticket to the Iguazu falls cost me (Pesos)$2860 and Bill's ticket $3686 (As foreigner)

I still do not understand this discrimination

, but Argentinean authorities never asked Him the "reciprocity rate" of U$140. in the Airport

.- But dont complain Gringo, You was lucky do not pay in the Iguazu Park thanks to Your walking stick....

sheephunterabFlight to Santa Rosa was great. Arrived in Santa Rosa to take the flight back to BA today and found out they changed the scheduled flight from Monday to Tuesday this week but never bothered letting us know. Oh well, taking the bus to BA tonight. Sounds like these major changes are frequent, as is the lack of communication.

sheephunterabWe'll do a full hunt report when we get back but the hunt and all of the arrangements in the outfitter's control have been awesome! We're chilling in a hotel in Santa Rosa until the bus leaves so it isn't all bad.

sheephunterabWe took the bus to BA last night and what a great way to travel. Not sure I'd ever fly within the country again. The bus is great, reliable and very inexpensive.

llamapackerI flew on AA two weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. Both flights were on time, in planes that appeared nearly new, and had excellent service. Even changed my return flight by two days with no additional charge, just a simple phone call.
Would never have recevied the same level of service from any of the US airlines. I would happily use them again.

trapntravI had the same level of service as llamapacker around the same time frame, no complaints. Flew BA-Santa Rosa- BA- Iguaccu-BA. The only weird thing was that when the plane lands everyone claps! we used to do that in Canada 20 or 30yrs ago i think. Not sure if thats an Argenitne thing or if people were just happy to be alive after flying AA !!!

billinthewildFrom the posts I have read here it seems that the AA flights are a gamble....when they work, they work well, but the question is will they work? I have to rely on my in country travel agent to make the decisions for me....PeladoTravel&Sons....

Larry SellersBill - Is this a well known travel agent in Argentina that you are using?

Would I happen to know his name? Sounds like he did an OK job for you on your last trip?

Larry, he is very well known in some very tight circles...but fear not, I have arranged for him to pick you up in Cordoba.

sheephunterabWell, I'm happy to report that we did at least get a refund on our cancelled flight from Santa Rosa to BA. It didn't sound promising when we spoke to the agent in Santa Rosa but our travel agent here just let us know that she spoke with them and the money has been refunded. That will pay for the bus tickets with enough left over for a few bottles of good Malbec!

GatogordoAbout 20 years ago, we were returning to US from a successful dove hunting trip (is there any other kind?)in Argentina. My friend and I boarded our non-stop flt to Miami about 10:30 PM, I took my ususal 2 restorils which worked perfectly to allow a good nights sleep and wake up for breakfast before arriving in Miami. A couple of hours or so later, I'm awakened by our landing. Whoa, shit, I think groggily, what is this? Turns out Aerolineas Arg. had decided to add a stop in Rio de Janeiro to the schedule. Since it was international, or some such reasoning, my buddy and I had to de-plane for an hour or so in the VERY early morning hours in the Rio airport. Hell, even the coffee shops were closed. We kind of wandered around like zombies until we were allowed to re-board. At least I found out I could function at some minimal level under heavy restoril influence.

Needless to say, this unscheduled (originally, at least) stop completely screwed our chances of making our connecting flts out of Miami. I make it a habit to fly American or others since then.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.
NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

Michael RobinsonMaybe I've been lucky, but on several internal flights, including with firearms, I've had no problems with AA. I've just been annoyed that they have virtually no direct internal flights, except from BA. They use BA as a hub for other flights from one city to another. That forces a plane change and slows things down.
