One of my hunting friends is missing...please pray
He didn't returned to camp. All my hunting buddies where hunting in the north. It's full moon and we use to hunt walking during the night around the cornfields and the nearby bush.

I was unable to join them.

He hunted a good pig yesterday earlier in the night, then they separate and he wasn't seen again. He didn't appear during the day and the rest are looking for him right know at this moment, I am waiting for ar least a call saying that everything is ok..meanwhile I can`t sleep. Where he can be?? our forest are not so big...

This is like a bad joke he must be somewhere !!!

Thanks Scott,

It has been 24 hours since the last time they saw him. I don't understand.

I feel like a stupid infront of the computer without doing anything..they don't have cellphone signal where they are, a little bit from time to time and in very few places so I am not unable to talk to them.

I don't know what is going on, last time I talk to them was 8 pm

No news yet.
I have talked to everyone I know, right now there ar 3 police groups searching by ground and 1 helicopter from the Air Force.

Martin, the area is BIG and wild for our standards,MANY square kilometres of thick thornbush. It was seen in a nearby property from the distance by farm workers yesterday morning so he is alive.

Why he don't was able to walk away from the bush and contact a farmhouse is VERY strange.

I talked about this with one of the policeman in charge told me that in these situations people can have strange reactions, who knows...??

He lost contact with the rest of the hunting group on thursday night, this night will be 48 hours...

Beg your pardon Lorenzo for my comment.
Sometimes my english not good enough.

It was not my intention to say it was not a difficult situation, just wanted to be positive.
Un abrazo.

No news yet. Police told me to expect the worst.
The air search ended. I hired a private helicopter by my own. Tomorrow morning it will be there to continue the search.

He is the only son of an older mother, he has no father and his younger and only brother lost his life a couple of years ago.

His mother don't no nothing yet as he was supposed to return tomorrow.

I just hope he is still alive somewhere out of the bush. If he is dead or unconcious inside the bush we will never find it before the pigs...this were the words of the police in charge a couple of hours ago.

Keep praying

Richard in case you see this he is NOT Mario or the Gaucho. Mario was there hunting with him, in fact he was the last one who saw him alive. He is helping with the police. The search by ground will continue during the night as the police had established a permanent camp in the area.

48 hours wthout news.

I certainly hope your friend is found in good shape. 48 hours is not really all that long a period of time, especially if he has water. We're hoping for the best up here.

Great news! Sounds like he has some real friends helping find him as well. That speaks highly of the hunter and his friends.

Lorenzo:

I'm glad all our prayers were heard, but as our mutual friend Billinthewild says, please don't leave us because a moderator lacks compassion. Your wisdom would be sorely missed on this site if you stopped contributing.

Lorenzo,

Great news, and very happy to hear of your friend's survival. You are a true friend.

Also, please don't leave. Count me as one who has enjoyed your posts and contributions for years now, and it would bum me out not to see you posting here anymore.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

I am grateful your freind is alive Lorenzo. Your leaving is a shame for us though, as there are too few with the heart and mind of a true hunter. I have always enjoyed and respected your storys and veiws.
Cheers.
