Are there some members from Chile?
From Punta Arenas or Ultima Esperanza?

There use to be a member from Chile ,i dont remember his name but he hunted wild boars in Los Andes i dont know the area where he lives.Juan

I´m interesting in terra del fuego cause of my family history.
Around 1900 a had an uncle down there.
Golddigger,hunter,famous there in the old days .His name was Friedrich Otten.
I make some search for a story.

Karl, pozzi is of piamontes origin ,but my mother is Zurbriggen german swiss they were great hunters ,soldiers and one of the was the first to climb the Aconcagua mountain ,i admire the influence of the germans in the Chilean army.Juan

Juan,it was a great time for explorer.
I still have a lot of documents about my uncle.
His Gold claim.The sign of his horses.His death zertificate,a Postcard with Mount Burny on it.
He was the first christian who cross the Rio Grande.He has a fight with indians and lived with Andreas Madsen.
And he has a small mountain with his name Cerro Otten.
My dream is to go there and see his grave and the place he lived.

Wild wild south

Karl my wife is from Rio Negro there in Choele Choel i hunt geese and wild boar ,is the same place where Peter Capstick hunted ,my wifes grandfather was a great trapper ,hunter and guide in this area.Juan

Hauke Karl W. : I am from Chile. And hunt and fish more or less 800 kilometers south of Santiago , not in the Magallanes region ,where Punta Arenas and Tierra del Fuego belongs . Anyhow I am planning some fishing and hunting there in the future. I have some links with the Region, my grandfather was a navy officer and explorer there , more or less a 100 years ago, and one of the mountains belonging to the Torres del Paine is named after him .The beauty of the wilderness,mountains ,lakes,rivers and glaciers is breathtaking.
I will be glad to answer any question.
