Would it be better to rent a cell phone here that I could bring to Argentina, or just wait until I come down and purchase one there that I could use with a cell phone card to be able to call back to the states, and then receive calls? Thanks for any recommendations.

Bill, I'd keep my current cell phone, just be sure you have the international roaming service enabled. It's advisable to check with your company, they for sure could have a much better explanation (??)

Ditto what Gustav said. I suggest you to bring your own and make sure before leaving the States that the international roaming service has been enabled in it...

Another way to keep yourself communicated is by the internet (via skype or emails)... nowadays almost everywhere downhere a cyber can be found
